Another Spectacular Success
– The 2011 British Grand Prix at Silverstone

There was one clear British winner at the Grand Prix this year at Silverstone.

But while Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton unfortunately couldn’t stand atop the podium and drench us all with champagne, Air Harrods deemed the weekend to be a great success.  The Silverstone helipad had been relocated to a smaller area on the outside of the circuit which gave rise to some logistical concerns.

But these matters were swiftly dispelled as the weekend’s flying programme progressed without any major problems. In fact, throughout a very busy weekend all our flights ran thirty minutes ahead of schedule.
In a change to recent years, a variety of locations were used by Air Harrods to collect the large numbers of passengers.

This year we used sites at The Grove Hotel at Rickmansworth, Marriott Hanbury Manor Hotel, Ware and Fawsley Hall near Daventry. Additionally, we collected a number of passengers from both Oxford Kidlington Airport and the London Heliport at Battersea.

To make the day’s experience complete we also offered our expert assistance with finding suitable accommodation and hospitality at the racetrack.  After all the excitement of the day there was the tastefully appointed and dedicated Air Harrods chalet, located conveniently close to the helipad entrance.

It was available to all our passengers wishing to relax in a comfortable armchair before their return flight, with the bonus of afternoon tea or a glass of chilled champagne.
